Skipsea occurs as village on the East Riding of Yorkshire coast, approximately Decade miles South of Bridlington and 6 miles N of Hornsea.
Upright to the West of of the village, around an metropolitan area called Skipsea Brough lies Skipsea Castle. Built around 1086, the motte-and-bailey style castle has since been destroyed, however, telling earthworks however remain.
